THE SCOTTISH HAITIAN FOUNDATION
For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

OUR CURRENT MISSION
OUR CURRENT MISSION
We are currrently fundrasing to give Esther a safe, warm home. Esther's little house in Haiti is still missing secure doors, proper windows and a working toilet, leaving her vulnerable to weather and unsafe living conditions.
Your support will help make her home safe, weatherproof and secure.

We met first Esther in 2019. At the time, she was living with her grandmother as both of her parents had passed away. She was not attending school and was struggling with basic daily needs, including staying clean, eating regularly, and accessing education.
We sent her a care package and arranged for monthly deliveries of food, including rice and oil. We also organised for a local woman to visit each month to help with some of her basic care needs.
During our visits, we noticed that Esther and her grandmother were sleeping on torn rags on the floor, so we bought them a bed. We later realised that the house they were living in was unsafe and close to collapsing.
Robin researched earthquake-resistant building methods, and we rented nearby accommodation so that Esther and her grandmother could move somewhere safer.
We then bought land and built Esther a new house.
